Each season brings new inspiration as I know I am influenced by the colors of the natural world.
I am often aware that my paintings can be seen from multiple view points depending on how they are hung.
When painting more abstract forms I am constantly turning the painting, which allows for a freedom in the completed work.
This may not even be something I am thinking about at the time.
I am always delighted when light and softness come through, which is represented in the 48x48 inch painting below.

Inspiration came from photos I took in Joshua Tree . The rocks have always been part of my life because I grew up near this high desert land. The paintings were started in 2019 and the shapes are still moving through my work in 2020.
Mixed media often exposes a new process and in this series it became how I controlled the oil and acrylic paint to form the piece. My intention was to bring forth the deeper colors of the first layer and contrast them with lighter and softer colors of the final layer.
